Investiture Ceremony

21 st

Council members’ of 2018-19 handed over their baton to the current batch of council members on 21st June ‘19. The names of the Council members along with their posts are – 
Sports Head- Manav Laliwala, Kevin Donda Events Head- Harsh Gada, Krutant Karmakar Equus House Captain- Jinay Shah  Eagles House Captain- Veejit Jain Dolphins House Captain- Mahi Chandan  Pumas House Captain- Mihir Chavda
Every year Elocution is held which serves as a platform for students to build their communication skills. The competition brings a sense of achievement and pride among the participants.

2 nd

NLFP celebrated its 21st Annual Day in a unique fashion at SSS auditorium, Shivaji Park, Dadar, on 2nd Aug ‘19.

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Gaurav Pradhan (MD of Credit Suisse and Co-head investment banking, Mumbai). Our guest of honour & judge were Ms. Ambereen Pradhan (Director & Promoter of Energia, Structure of Intellect) and Ms. Shanthipriya Ray (TV artist and Film actress). The other dignitaries present for the event were Mr. Sekhar Devdas (COO of Vistra ITCL India Ltd.), Mr. Alok Bhargava, Ms. Kranti Salvi (Marathoner), Ms. Rekha Sahani (Core team member of IOFC), Ms. Sangeeta Thakkar (Principal of Greenlawns High School) and Ms. Vinodini Lulla (CMCA Trustee).


The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by Nalanda song. Ms. Aarti Gandhi, Director of NLFP extended a warm welcome to all and felicitated the guests with a token of appreciation.


While addressing the audience, Ms. Aarti Gandhi, Director of NLFP appreciated the students and teachers for their efforts in achieving good results for the academic year 2018 -2019. The Annual day programme was exquisitely hosted by Mrs. Bhavini Ashar. The school felicitated the rank holders and subject wise toppers of SSC and NIOS exams and all the meritorious students of Class V to Class IX with trophy and certificate.


The concert was hosted by Yazad Mogrelia. The theme of the concert was ‘Unlock Your Future’ which included various 21st century careers. Centering on the theme, the event started with an English play, the story of a girl named Riya and her struggle to achieve success and recognition for who she is. Riya attends a Career Fair to know about various 21st century careers. Students of NLFP performed dances on various careers related to Social work, Technology, Hospitality, Performing & Visual Arts, Sports and National Security. Along with the aptitude test result Riya makes an informed decision about her career. In the end Riya gave a live singing performance and proved herself as a good singer (and choose the same as her career choice). The highlight of the programme was the dance performed by NLFP teachers followed by parents dance.


The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony. The National security dance won the prize for the best dance performance. Best Actor award in the play was earned by Miss Sadaf Tharadra. Best Dancer (seniors) was won by Mast. Krutant Karmakar and Best Dancer (juniors) was Mast. Mohd Shaikh. Junior students were also given a Special Appreciation award for their dance


The programme concluded with vote of thanks and National Anthem.

5 th

Teachers' Day was celebrated at NLFP on 5th Sept ‘19. Students organized a grand party for all the teachers. They made the teachers play some fun games, showed their dance talent, and also gave chocolates, flowers, cards as a token of appreciation.

20 th

In-house Ace Chef competition at NLFP was held on 20th Sept ‘19. All students from std VI- X participated. The judges were Ms Zainab Saria Dhoarjiwala and Ms Sangeeta Shashital.
The winners of the Junior category were Faizan Khan and Mohd Shaikh at 1st position, Heer Shah and Zikra Qureshi at 2nd position and Sadaf Tharada and Haley Mehta at 3rd position.
The winners of the Senior category were Murtuza kachwala and Husein Hemani at 1st position, Ojas Kamerkar and Abdul Husain Dhuliawala at 2nd position and Maitry Shinde and Yazad Mogrelia at 3rd position. There was one announced. Rashi Shah and Tritiksha Bhansali won the consolation prize for creativity and presentation.
This competition brought forth their culinary skills, many innovative recipes, colorful presentations, and willingness to work as a team.

12 th

The 7th inter-school Ace-chef competition was held on 12th Dec ‘19 at YMCA International House, Agripada, Mumbai.
Mr. Sameer Malkani, President FBAI presided over the judging team and Mr. Mickey Mehta was the Chief Guest. Judges for the junior teams were Ms Smita Deo, Ms Rajishri Gupta, Ms Vidita Kamat Ms Saloni Malkani and Chef Amitesh Virdi. Judges for the senior teams were Ms Pia Promina Dasgupta, Chef Varun Inamdar, Chef Anees Khan.
The prizes and gifts were co-sponsored by Jindal Cocoa and Tree of Life.
The competition was judged on the basis of creativity in recipe, taste, presentation and teamwork.
73 teams from 23 schools across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai participated in this annual event hosted by NLFP.
The winners of the Senior category were Laasya Hundy and Jayati Hinge of Avlon Heights International School, Vashi at 1st position, Kriva Shah and Ananya Chaurasia of The Alexandra girls English Institution, Fort at 2nd position and Mohammeed Lashkerwala and Ibrahim Madraswala of MSB Educational Institute at 3rd position.
The winners of the Junior category were Mahi Patel and Mishti Shah of Gopi Birla Memorial School at 1st position, Hansika Ahuja and Chinmayi Patil of I. E. S Orion, Dadar at 2nd position and Vedant Mayekar and Divit Jain of The Scholar high School, Colaba at 3rd position. There was one consolation prize announced for creativity and presentation. The winners were Saachi Ved and Hancika Chamudia of The Alexandra Girls English Institution. Snacks and refreshments were served to all participants, teachers, parents, other dignitaries and guests.

Art and Craft Exhibition is held at NLFP- Students are guided by their Art Professor, Vishal Mane, and together they put up a brilliant show & the winners are given certificates.

7 th

A seminar on 21st Century Careers was held on 7th April, 2015 at CCI Club- C.K. Naydu Hall, for students, parents, teachers and councellors of all the schools in Mumbai. The seminar was organised in collaboration with Energia Wellbeing Pvt. Ltd. Aim was to help students and parents make informed decisions in choosing the discipline for further studies after 10th & 12th examinations. Eminent speakers like Mr. Sarosh Daruwalla of Switzer Hospitality Education, Mr. Viral of Raffles Education Corp Ltd., Mr. Anant and Mr. Peeyush Prasad of ADYPU School of Film & Media and D Y Patil and Dilip Chhabria Centre for Automotive Research and Studies, Pune (DYPDC), Mr.Pratik Gour and Mr. Vivek of S P Jain Institute of Management Studies, Mr Rakesh Nair of BSE Institute Ltd., Ms. Seema Joshi made presentations on off- beat careers.
Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker was Dr Aditi Govitrikar.
Chief Guest Mr Hari Sankaran, Managing Director & Vice-Chairman, IL&FS released the ‘Career Book’ written and edited by Ms. Bhoomi Kothi.
