The Nalanda Learning and Facilitation Program conducted a webinar on Tuesday, 29th June 2021 at 10.30 am on Nutrition by Aahar Kranti, virtual events being the new normal.
The presentation explained the role of nutrients in food that we consume, how the body uses them and the relationship between diet, health and diseases. Mr Akshay and Mr Ray of Aahar Kranti conducted this webinar on awareness of nutrition. We hope the knowledge imparted by them to our students and teachers would be put into practice and make more people in our surroundings aware about the importance and benefit of a proper nutritional diet in these trying times where health is of utmost importance.

Every year Elocution is held which serves as a platform for students to build their communication skills. The competition brings a sense of achievement and pride among the participants.

NLFP celebrated its 21st Annual Day in a unique fashion at SSS auditorium, Shivaji Park, Dadar, on 2nd Aug ‘19.

The chief guest for the event was Mr. Gaurav Pradhan (MD of Credit Suisse and Co-head investment banking, Mumbai). Our guest of honour & judge were Ms. Ambereen Pradhan (Director & Promoter of Energia, Structure of Intellect) and Ms. Shanthipriya Ray (TV artist and Film actress). The other dignitaries present for the event were Mr. Sekhar Devdas (COO of Vistra ITCL India Ltd.), Mr. Alok Bhargava, Ms. Kranti Salvi (Marathoner), Ms. Rekha Sahani (Core team member of IOFC), Ms. Sangeeta Thakkar (Principal of Greenlawns High School) and Ms. Vinodini Lulla (CMCA Trustee).

 

The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by Nalanda song. Ms. Aarti Gandhi, Director of NLFP extended a warm welcome to all and felicitated the guests with a token of appreciation.

 

While addressing the audience, Ms. Aarti Gandhi, Director of NLFP appreciated the students and teachers for their efforts in achieving good results for the academic year 2018 -2019. The Annual day programme was exquisitely hosted by Mrs. Bhavini Ashar. The school felicitated the rank holders and subject wise toppers of SSC and NIOS exams and all the meritorious students of Class V to Class IX with trophy and certificate.

 

The concert was hosted by Yazad Mogrelia. The theme of the concert was ‘Unlock Your Future’ which included various 21st century careers. Centering on the theme, the event started with an English play, the story of a girl named Riya and her struggle to achieve success and recognition for who she is. Riya attends a Career Fair to know about various 21st century careers. Students of NLFP performed dances on various careers related to Social work, Technology, Hospitality, Performing & Visual Arts, Sports and National Security. Along with the aptitude test result Riya makes an informed decision about her career. In the end Riya gave a live singing performance and proved herself as a good singer (and choose the same as her career choice). The highlight of the programme was the dance performed by NLFP teachers followed by parents dance.

 

The programme ended with the prize distribution ceremony. The National security dance won the prize for the best dance performance. Best Actor award in the play was earned by Miss Sadaf Tharadra. Best Dancer (seniors) was won by Mast. Krutant Karmakar and Best Dancer (juniors) was Mast. Mohd Shaikh. Junior students were also given a Special Appreciation award for their dance

 

The programme concluded with vote of thanks and National Anthem.

Teachers' Day was celebrated at NLFP on 5th Sept ‘19. Students organized a grand party for all the teachers. They made the teachers play some fun games, showed their dance talent, and also gave chocolates, flowers, cards as a token of appreciation.

In-house Ace Chef competition at NLFP was held on 20th Sept ‘19. All students from std VI- X participated. The judges were Ms Zainab Saria Dhoarjiwala and Ms Sangeeta Shashital.
The winners of the Junior category were Faizan Khan and Mohd Shaikh at 1st position, Heer Shah and Zikra Qureshi at 2nd position and Sadaf Tharada and Haley Mehta at 3rd position.
The winners of the Senior category were Murtuza kachwala and Husein Hemani at 1st position, Ojas Kamerkar and Abdul Husain Dhuliawala at 2nd position and Maitry Shinde and Yazad Mogrelia at 3rd position. There was one announced. Rashi Shah and Tritiksha Bhansali won the consolation prize for creativity and presentation.
This competition brought forth their culinary skills, many innovative recipes, colorful presentations, and willingness to work as a team.

The Nalanda Learning and Facilitation Program proudly held its eighth season of Ace Chef inter school competition (online) on Saturday, 27th February 2021, virtual events being the new normal. This unique cooking competition was held online in association with Adventure Holidays, where the students showcased their culinary skills working individually at their homes. The zest and enthusiasm shown by the participants was unbelievable. They displayed remarkable skills in innovating the recipes, sourcing the ingredients and presenting the final dishes. The program was presided by Mr. Sameer Malkani, President FBAI (Food Bloggers Association of India). Hundred students from over twenty-four schools across Mumbai participated in this competition.
Judges for the junior teams were Chef Ananya Banerjee, Chef Raji Gupta, Chef Roopa Nabar, Chef Kalyan Kamarkar and Chef Anees Khan. The judges for senior teams were Chef Varun Inamdar, Chef Karan Bane, Chef Seefah Ketchaiyo, Chef Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal and Ms Saloni Malkani.
Participants in the junior category made salads and sandwiches, while the seniors made starters and desserts.
Winners in the junior category were, 1st position -Peri-Peri Paneer Onigirazu, Shahi Fruit Sando and Matcha Chai Latte by Mehr Chachra from G D Somani Memorial School, 2nd position-Garden Fresh Delight (open sandwich) and Exotic Junglee Jumbo Sandwich by Vedant Jhaveri from G D Somani School and 3rd position- Mediterranean Salad Havisha by Dinesh Bajaj from Greenlawns high school, Warden Rd.
Winners of the senior category were, 1st position Vegan Dynamite Sushi, Vegan Banoffee Pie Trifle and Sunrise Mocktail by Namaha Kangutkar from Greenlawns worli, 2nd position- Choco Jalebi with Strawberry Cream by Kashvi Balar from Maneckji cooper education trust school, Mumbai and 3rd position- Indiana Mexicana Delicadeza, Avocado Salsa Curd Delight, Bejewelled Puffed Rice Special and Le-Mi-Gin by Yashas Dassani from G.D. Somani Memorial School.
The winners were awarded with certificates, Trophies and gift hampers. The gift hampers were sponsored by Rootz & Co, Plattered, Kalon's and Jindal Cocoa. The trophies were sponsored by Rotaract Club of Mumbai Malabar Hill.

A seminar on 21st Century Careers was held on 7th April, 2015 at CCI Club- C.K. Naydu Hall, for students, parents, teachers and councellors of all the schools in Mumbai. The seminar was organised in collaboration with Energia Wellbeing Pvt. Ltd. Aim was to help students and parents make informed decisions in choosing the discipline for further studies after 10th & 12th examinations. Eminent speakers like Mr. Sarosh Daruwalla of Switzer Hospitality Education, Mr. Viral of Raffles Education Corp Ltd., Mr. Anant and Mr. Peeyush Prasad of ADYPU School of Film & Media and D Y Patil and Dilip Chhabria Centre for Automotive Research and Studies, Pune (DYPDC), Mr.Pratik Gour and Mr. Vivek of S P Jain Institute of Management Studies, Mr Rakesh Nair of BSE Institute Ltd., Ms. Seema Joshi made presentations on off- beat careers.
Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker was Dr Aditi Govitrikar.
Chief Guest Mr Hari Sankaran, Managing Director & Vice-Chairman, IL&FS released the ‘Career Book’ written and edited by Ms. Bhoomi Kothi.
